International Woman’s Day 2023 - Embrace Equity

Amja Unabashedly has partnered with the Woman's Trust Charity to support the work they do for women who have experienced domestic abuse.

The Woman's Trust is a specialist mental health charity; providing free counselling and therapy for women who have experienced domestic.

In recognition of International Woman’s Day 2023 theme: Embrace Equity, the amazing team at Woman’s Trust has a campaign “No Woman Turned Away” #nowomanturnedaway which is their part in acknowledging embracing equity.

Join me and help support the Woman's Trust to continue providing their free services by investing in an "A Heart To Hold" print, pictured below.

By purchasing an A Heart To Hold print you're not only investing in beautiful fine art with a message to remind you of the importance of holding our heart, but you're also helping save women's lives, because 10% of all A Heart To Hold prints sold will be donated to the charity so that they can continue to provide invaluable support needed now.

Amja Unabashedly and 16 Days of Activism with Advance Charity

I was invited by Advance Charity to be the opening speaker for their "Talk About Abuse" event in recognition of 16 Days of Activism to end violence against women and girls.

At the event I performed my poem " I'm Gonna Help My Sister Rise" which was inspired by the Million Women Rise march and the power of sisterhood solidarity.

BLAM Charity and Revolutionary Black British Women

In recognition of International Women's Day, I was invited to take space with other revolutionary Black British women to share my journey and how I use the power of creative expression to encourage people to take steps towards healing following experience of domestic abuse and other trauma.

I had the honour of engaging in conversation with women who are taking courageous steps to raise awareness on issues that impact marginalised communities such as feminism, racism, mental health.
